Once again, the Austrian Armed Forces, Red Bull and the Province of Styria organized two great days for aviation enthusiasts in Zeltweg. With a partly rainy Friday and the best late summer weather on Saturday, around 250,000 visitors came to the Hinterstoisser air base or watched the program from the outdoor areas.
For the eighth time, the Austrian Armed Forces, Red Bull and the Province of Styria organized two great days for aviation enthusiasts in Zeltweg. With the best late summer weather and free admission, around 275,000 visitors came to the Hinterstoisser air base or viewed the program from the outside of the airfield areas.
Around 200 aircraft were presented by the Austrian Armed Forces, Red Bull and the Province of Styria at the seventh edition of AIRPOWER. Despite the bad weather, a total of around 185,000 visitors flocked to the Hinterstoisser air base in Zeltweg on 6 and 7 September 2019 to marvel at the demonstrations in the air and on the ground. The very varied programme offered a broad cross-section of aviation, from loud fighter jets to quiet glider aerobatics.
As part of the "Bundeswehr Day", the longest-serving flying unit of the German Air Force celebrates its 60th anniversary. At Penzing Air Base, however, there is not only joy about the more than 50,000 visitors on this sunny day. The dissolution of Air Transport Squadron 61 and closure of the military airfield is imminent at the end of 2017.
